The VIC 20 was released in January 1981, for the suggested retail of $299.00.

In April of 1983 Commodore drops the price of the VIC 20 below $100.00. Since the VIC 20 could only display 22 charactors of text on the screen, it was mostly used to play games, but because of it's price the commodore VIC-20 introduced a lot of folks to the world of computing.

In 1984 Commodore stopped manufacturing the VIC-20.

If you are interested in other types of these computers please visit my 8BIT site below. I will also be adding more systems as I get the pages completed.

At the 8BIT page check out the database I am creating to keep track of your computer collections.

Thanks,
Ron
